About

I paint vivid, kitsch-inspired scenes that blur the line between sincerity and satire. My work embraces excess—bright color, sentimental imagery, and humor—as a way to explore emotion, memory, and the strange beauty found in bad taste.

Kitsch is more than aesthetic; it’s a language of feeling. It’s the velvet painting, the souvenir, the cliché—objects that are often dismissed but speak with a kind of emotional honesty that “refined” art sometimes avoids. I’m drawn to that tension between authenticity and artifice, between what moves us and what embarrasses us for being moved.

Through playful exaggeration and absurdity, I reimagine familiar symbols and archetypes to provoke both laughter and reflection. I want my paintings to feel electric and alive—funny at first glance, but layered with the vulnerability and chaos that underlie our need for beauty and belonging.

Ultimately, my work celebrates the power of visual excess and emotion. In a culture that prizes irony and restraint, I’m interested in what happens when we give in fully to feeling—even when it’s messy or loud.
